November, 2013 Homes Sales Down 8%
The decrease in regional sales was foreshadowed by a slowdown in foot traffic at open houses this fall. This is not an unusual development however, because the market often sees a slowdown in sales as the fall seasons wears on.
October, 2013 Homes Sales Up 3.5%
There were a total of 1,386 homes sold in October, compared to 1,434 in September of 2012, according to the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors.
The 3.5% increase in regional sales may be a sign that the marketplace is settling into a more gradual sales pace. A steady sales increase would point to a market with competitive pricing and neither buyers nor sellers dominating a transaction.
September, 2013 Homes Sales Up 16.4%
There were a total of 1,484 homes sold in September, compared to 1,275 in September of 2012, according to the Greater Milwaukee Association of Realtors.
While the fall and winter markets usually see a slowdown in activity, they expect 20113 to end on a positive note. Nearly 14,000 sales completed, compared to a historic average of 3,000-4,000 sales in the 4th quarter. They are comfortable projecting about 17,000 sales at the end of 2013. This total would put the year on the level similar to early 2000’s.
